“There is a despotic law (i.e. of the bishops, Despoti = master, ruler) for us clerics, which the holy hierarchs have amended to the 10 Commandments and it is, so to speak, the 11th commandment of despotic rule (the rule of bishops). And that is: Listen — See — Be Quiet.
With the help of God, I am breaking the muzzle of the despots/bishops, I am opening my mouth and I will will you all, as always, the naked truth….
I prefer to be a simple monk but uncompromising with he world and the devil rather than to be a bishop and archbishop and patriarch and to compromise with the devil.
I gladly give to all of those sirs all of the sticks, all of the miters, all of the staffs, all of the engolpia (icon hung around the bishops’ necks) and to keep only one thing, the word of Holy Scripture: “Struggle unto death for the truth and the Lord God will fight for you (Wisdom of Seirach 4:28).”
